The Library, established in 1993 as a teaching support for students of the Economics and Business degree course of the Faculty of Economics of La Sapienza University, the first course activated in the Latina location, opened to the public on March 1, 1995.
In 1997, during an official ceremony, the bronze plaque with the dedication of the library to Senator Mario Costa, former President of the Consortium for the Pontine University, who worked tirelessly for the development of the university in the city of Latina, was presented.
The area of interest, initially economic-legal, has expanded to the technical-scientific and then to the biomedical with the acquisition of library materials in the sectors relevant to the degree courses of the Faculties of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Information Engineering, Computer Science and Statistics, and Pharmacy and Medicine, subsequently activated at the location.
The "M. Costa" Library is part of the Research and Service Center for Sustainable Technological Development (Ce.R.S.I.Te.S.) of La Sapienza University - Latina location.
